Day 3 Post Op - September 19, 2010

Josh made a lot of progress in 24 hours.  Today he:

  • had the NG tube removed
  • had the catheter removed
  • got off oxygen
  • got off Heparin
  • walked across his room and back
  • moved out of the intermediate care unit (step-down unit) to a regular transplant unit
Not bad for 24 hours??

Do you believe in karma?  Do you think some things are more than just a coincidence?  I do.  I moved to the hotel across from the hospital today, and was assigned room 615.  Josh moved to his new hospital room today - the number?  6-515.  Does that strike you as more than a little strange?  I believe it's a sign of good luck and good karma.

Josh had on his glasses today and was watching various sporting events on television.  Yes, he is definitely getting better.

Gregg and Emily returned to Connecticut today.  We will miss them, but hopefully before we know it we will be back also.

Thanks for all your calls, emails, texts, comments, etc.  We appreciate everyone's support.
